In a Fishing Village in Japan |
|||||
Yoshinao Tsuruki San, a reporter of The Kitanippon Shimbum, a Japanese newspaper, was curious about Ginés and wanted to write an article about his life in the fishing town of Shinminato. He followed the Spanish artist around for days, hoping to get a glimpse of him painting. He said that instead of buckling down to work, Ginés spent most of his time with the villagers. He went with them to the Sento or the public bath. He also drank sake or beer with the fisher folks. At times, he went fishing with them at dawn. |
